Activity 1.1.1 Undertake a desk review to pinpoint capacity gaps in research skills and facilities for ex-ante economic impact analysis within African agrifood systems, focusing on PANAP member countries.
Activity 1.1.2 Evaluate the skills and institutional infrastructure necessary for conducting ex-ante impact policy research.
Activity 1.1.3 Identify barriers hindering the dissemination and communication of research outputs, as well as obstacles to the uptake of evidence-based decision-making.
Activity 1.1.4 Utilize the identified gaps and needs as a basis to develop training modules in WP2.
Activity 1.1.5 Perform a second desk review aimed at identifying pertinent data sources supporting quantitative analysis.

Activity 1.2.2 Consolidate national, regional, and continental policies by drawing from PANAP, Consortium partners, and other organizations.
Activity 1.2.3 Gather thematically and geographically pertinent information from FNSSA Partnership project sources.
Activity 1.2.4 Categorize various stakeholders, including policy makers, researchers, practitioners, donors, and projects for collaboration, utilizing short surveys and focus group discussions.
Activity 1.2.5 Develop an engagement plan that outlines a well-coordinated participatory process and identifies suitable co-creation methods tailored to each stakeholder group.
Activity 1.3.1 Conduct a thorough literature review to identify causal factors influencing interactions among researchers, policy makers, and stakeholders.
Activity 1.3.2 Develop a survey based on insights from the literature to identify communication and interaction needs among researchers and policy makers in the PANAP network.
Activity 1.3.3 Disseminate the survey to PANAP network members and experts within the consortium.
Activity 1.3.4 Conduct follow-up interviews to evaluate survey results and gain deeper insights into identified issues and needs.    Activity 1.3.5 Use identified factors as an entry point for evidence-based support activities in WP5 and WP6, aiming to address gaps and support FNSSA policy development, implementation, and analysis and Collaborate with the Joint Research Centre (JRC) for enhanced effectiveness.
