Activity 8.1.1 Oversee administrative processes, manage the budget, and compile relevant reports, submitting them, along with contractual documents, to the European Commission (EC). Activity 8.1.2 Supervise the overall execution of the project, including the evaluation of work package deliverables. Coordinate activities based on the grant agreement and collaborate with work package leaders to monitor progress. Activity 8.1.3 Provide support to institutions in overcoming challenges that may arise during project implementation Activity 8.1.4 Furnish the EC with regular updates and annual progress reports, aligning with agreed timelines. Activity 8.1.5 Organize project inception/kick-off and close-out meetings, conduct baseline studies at the project’s initiation, and undertake an evaluation at the conclusion of the project. Activity 8.2.1 Set up two levels; Governance and Oversight, and Management and Implementation.
Activity 8.2.2. Compose the project steering committee (SC) with the European Commission, international and national stakeholders, define the SC as the highest formal decision-making body, including all partners and the EC-JRC and conduct an annual review and planning meeting as part of the SC’s activities. Hold quarterly SC meetings to assess project progress and evaluate alignment with quality, time, and budget objectives.
Activity 8.2.3 Establish a project management committee, Include all work package leaders and co-leaders in the committee and entrust the project management committee with day-to-day management and implementation activities.
Activity 8.2.4 Utilize SC meetings to fully inform participants about project progress and discuss differing views and base decision-making on any changes in the work plan direction on consensus among SC members. Activity 8.2.5 Prioritize the betterment of the project as the central platform for decision-making in SC meetings. Activity 8.3.1 Create a comprehensive Gender Action Strategy/Plan to ensure the inclusion of gender perspectives in all project activities, addressing issues related to women, youth, and marginalized groups in collaboration with African Women in Agricultural Research for Development (AWARD) Activity 8.3.2 Develop a Project Implementation Manual that integrates a Monitoring Evaluation and Learning (MEL) Framework and Tools. Align the manual with the MEL tools developed by WP3 to ensure consistency in project implementation Activity 8.3.3 Establish a Data Management Plan to provide support for work package leaders and co-leaders in project management, decision-making, and conflict resolution. Ensure the maintenance of quality, efficiency, and effectiveness in project delivery throughout the implementation of activities.
