Activity 2.1.1 Provide training for early career and established researchers on the application of selected PANAP models (DEMETRA and FSSIM-Dev) for economic analysis of policies in Africa’s food systems.
Activity 2.1.2 Conduct capacity-building activities and experience-sharing sessions for three policy research institutions in Africa (KIPPRA, Unifelix, and CSIR) on the development, application, and ownership of ex-ante economic models
Activity 2.1.3 Focus on enhancing skills for economic analysis of policies in Africa’s food systems using the selected PANAP models during the researcher capacity-building sessions.
Activity 2.1.4 Emphasize hands-on training in the application of PANAP models to ensure practical knowledge and skills among researchers.
Activity 2.1.5 Seek and anticipate support from the Joint Research Centre (JRC) for the overall task and specific assistance related to the selected economic models.
Activity 2.2.1 Foster collaborative research initiatives between European and African researchers, facilitating the exchange of experiences and knowledge
Activity 2.2.2 Support and promote the development of joint publications resulting from collaborative research endeavors
Activity 2.2.3 Blog – Coordinate and execute exchange programs, encompassing internships, mentorship opportunities, and short-term visits for PhD students, researchers, and senior policy management staff.
Activity 2.2.4 Organize activities aimed at enhancing the capacity of participants, including training sessions, workshops, and relevant capacity-building initiatives.
Activity 2.2.5 Guide fellows in exploring and understanding the applicability of databases, modeling tools, and processes related to Food, Nutrition, Security, and Sustainable Agriculture (FNSSA) in public policy-making.
Activity 2.2.6 Capitalize on the established partnership between RUFORUM and AGRINATURA to leverage their networks of professors, researchers, and research institutions specializing in African, European, and global food systems.
