From 15th June to 26th July, the PANAP Competency Development Programme (PCP) will offer a series of tutored sessions on basic Computable General Equilibrium (CGE) modelling. These sessions are based on Module 3 of the “Economy-wide Modelling for Policy Analysis” online course and focus on using a simple GAMS-based CGE model as a practical entry point into economy-wide modelling.

Over a six-week period, participants will engage in a structured learning programme that combines lectures, group exercises, self-paced practice, and one-to-one tutoring. The programme will conclude with an individual assignment. Participants who actively engage in all activities and successfully complete the assignment will receive a PANAP certification in modelling competences.

Participation is limited to six selected candidates. Priority will be given to PANAP members and applicants who can provide a letter of endorsement from their institution.

Applications are now open for the tutored period. Click on the button below to apply.

Deadline: 15th of May

Structure of Tutored Sessions

The tutored sessions are designed to provide a structured, hands-on introduction to Computable General Equilibrium (CGE) modelling. Across six weeks, participants will progressively build their understanding—from key theoretical concepts to practical model implementation and analysis. Each session combines guided instruction with practical exercises to reinforce learning and support the application of concepts.
