Topic: FSSIM-Dev: A farm level model for policy impact assessment in Africa
Date: Thursday, October 9th at 14:00 CET
This webinar will delve into the relevance of modelling at the farm level in Africa, highlighting the need to maintain heterogeneity in results to account for diverse situations of farmers in various food systems across Africa. FSSIN-Dev is a comparative static household model that is particularly adapted to reproduce the behaviour of smallholder farmers in Africa. The presenters will explain how the FSSIM-Dev model works, the main principle of its functioning (based on the calibration with Positive Mathematical Programming) and review two use cases to provide concrete examples of the interest of FSSIM-Dev, including the impact of irrigation investments in Western Africa.
Don’t miss this opportunity to engage with leading experts and learn how modelling can shape better policies for Africa’s agricultural future.
