About the programme
Deadline:15 December 2025, 18 GMT
What to expect?
We offer a one-year mentorship programme designed to support (early-career) researchers through close collaboration with senior experts from JRC and partners. Participants will receive guidance in econometrics and/ or modelling to co-develop a publishable article aimed at a high-impact agricultural economics journal. As part of the programme, researchers will gain access to data-rich, household-level datasets and/or the JRC farm-level FSSIM-Dev model (with tailored training sessions), to enable robust, policy-relevant research on sustainable agriculture and rural development. Subject to the progression of the research, full funding will be provided to participate in the 8th African Conference of Agricultural Economists (ACEA), taking place in Nairobi, Kenya, 22-25 September 2026.
Who can apply?
Researchers of African nationality with a master’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., economics, statistics, agricultural or environmental sciences, …) who are actively engaged in conducting applied policy-relevant econometric analysis or micro-economic modelling of African agri-food system issues.
